In simple terms, general waste relates to most household materials. This extends to items such as expanded polystyrene, tissues, contaminated packing, napkins, paper towels, disposable utensils, straws, furniture, clothes, toys, shoes, kitchen utensils, gardening tools, bikes, white goods (fridges must be emptied of food & drink), old CDs, DVDs, tapes, games, consoles etc. Remember that you cannot put hazardous materials into a general waste bin.
What is included in general waste?
Many items, such as styrofoam cups and containers, pens and pencils, tissues, napkins, paper towels, recyclable bottles and cans, can go into general waste.

How to Hire a Skip Bin
Step 1: Contact Us

- For same day skip bins for hire, book before 10am to reserve a slot.
Step 2: Choose Your Payment Method
- Pay by card over the phone or cash/card to the driver upon delivery.
- Request an invoice via email to pay by bank transfer.
- Need a receipt? Simply ask the delivery driver.
Step 3: Ensure Payment is Made
- All skip bins must be paid for before or on collection.
- Unpaid bins will not be collected and will be charged a $20 per day fee after 7 days.
Step 4: Follow Waste Guidelines
Keep all waste below the rim and within the skip bin’s edges. Any items exceeding the limit will be removed. Additional charges may also apply for certain items:
- Mattresses, gas bottles, and tyres – $35 extra per item
